After actively and diligently volunteering with TANA for over two decades, Dr. V. CHOWDARY JAMPALA is a candidate for the TANA’s EXECUTIVE VICE-PRESIDENT (PRESIDENT-ELECT) in 2013-2015. (ఈ పేజీని తెలుగులో చదవాలంటే ఇక్కడ నొక్కండి).

A well-respected psychiatrist, teacher, researcher and administrator, Dr. Jampala has and continues to bring excellent people skills, scientific temperament, and strong managerial talent to serve TANA. He has played a key role in numerous activities that have served the Telugu community in North America and has helped TANA achieve worldwide acclaim and respect. Dr. Jampala has been an active member of multiple Telugu organizations and Internet groups that have sprouted over the years. He is a respected Telugu literary enthusiast and one of the early promoters of Telugu on the Internet and computers. In his deep love for the language, he has contributed generous time and effort in editing various Telugu magazines and souvenirs in US. He has written extensively on thought-provoking topics in Telugu literature, and has edited two prominent anthologies of Telugu short stories. Beyond promoting TANA and Telugu culture, Dr. Jampala has played a founding and key role in the Foundation of Democratic Reforms in India, an organization that fought for governance reforms in India. As the President of Guntur Medical College Alumni of North America, his leadership and strategic participation have resulted in GMCANA becoming one of the most successful and effective alumni organizations.

Statement from Dr. Jampala:

TANA is the oldest, the largest and most active among all ethnic Indian organizations in North America. Today, the future of this glorious organization that we all love and respect is at a crucial junction that needs a strong and credible leader to re-invigorates past and current members, makes it more inclusive for all, and modernize it to be relevant to our future generations.

In my professional life, I have been successful in collaborating with people of different perspectives to design innovative and implementable solutions across crises.

నేను 32సంవత్సరాలుగా తానా సభ్యుణ్ణి. 21 సంవత్సరాలనుండి మన తానా సంస్థకు వివిధ రకాలుగా నేను చేస్తున్న స్వచ్ఛందసేవ మీకు పరిచయమే. అనేక తానా కార్యక్రమాలను రూపకల్పన చేయటం, అభివృద్ధి చేయటం, నిర్వహించటంలో వివిధ తానా కార్యనిర్వహకవర్గాలకు విరామం లేకుండా సాయపడుతూ ఉన్నాను. గత రెండు దశాబ్దాలలో   తానాకు ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా పేరు తెచ్చిన అనేక కార్యక్రమాల్లోపదవి, పేరు అని పట్టించుకోకుండా, నా వంతు పాత్ర నిర్వహించాను. తానా ఎన్నికలలో మొదటిసారిగా పోటీకి నిలుస్తూ, కార్యనిర్వాహక ఉపాధ్యక్షుడిగా (Executive Vice President – President Elect) నాకు మీ విలువైన ఓటు వేయమని సవినయంగా అభ్యర్థిస్తున్నాను.

ఇన్నాళ్ళుగా ఎన్నికలకు దూరంగా ఉన్న నేను ఈరోజు పోటీ చేయడానికి ఒక్కటే కారణం: కొన్నేళ్ళుగా మన ప్రియమైన తానా సంస్థ ఎన్నో ఒడిదుడుకులను ఎదుర్కొంటున్న విషయం మీకు తెలుసు. వేగంగా మారిపోతున్న పరిస్థితులలో తానా సంస్థ మనుగడను, భవిష్యత్తును భద్రపరచుకోవలసిన అవసరం ఇప్పుడు ఉంది. సంస్థ ఆశయాలను, విధానాలను పునరాలోచించుకొని ముందుకు ఎలా సాగాలో నిర్ణయించుకొనవలసిన తరుణం ఇది. అమెరికాలో తెలుగు వారి అవసరాలకు సరైన విధంగా స్పందిస్తూ, సభ్యులందరిని కలగలుపుకొని ఉత్తేజపరుస్తూ సంస్థను పటిష్టం చేయగలిగిన నాయకత్వం ఇప్పుడు కావాలి. చాలకాలంగా తానా వ్యవహారాలను దగ్గరనుండి పరిశీలిస్తున్నాను. అనేకమంది సభ్యులు తానా భవిష్యత్తుగురించి వారి అభిప్రాయాలను నాతో పంచుకొన్నారు.  ఈ అనుభవంతో సభ్యులందరినీ కలుపుకొని, సరైన నిర్ణయాలతో, పథకాలతో తానా భవిష్యత్తుకి బంగారు బాట వేయటానికి ఈ సమయంలో, ఈ పదవిలో నేను సాయపడగలను అనుకోవటమే ఇప్పుడు నేను పోటీ చేయటానికి కారణం.

మీ సహాయసహకారాలతో తానా సంస్థను తెలుగువారందరూ గర్వపడే సంస్థగా తీర్చిదిద్దవచ్చని నా నమ్మకం. ఈ ప్రయత్నంలో నాతో భాగస్వాములై, నాకు వోటు వేసి సహకరించమని కోరుతున్నాను. మీరు నాకు అవకాశం ఇస్తే, తానాకోసం, తానా సభ్యుల సంక్షేమం కోసం, తెలుగు వారందరికోసం, తెలుగు భాషా సంస్కృతుల పరిరక్షణ, పరివ్యాప్తికోసం శక్తివంచన లేకుండా కృషి చేస్తానని మాట ఇస్తున్నాను.  –  జంపాల చౌదరి
